Max power limiter

Finally getting ready to properly use my Arc Pro set after taking a long time to arrange my set up in the garage. Not played around too much with the app and after a mates kids flew the cars off the track at full speed the other day i wanted to look at the power limiters and throttle mapping. Is this simply the calibration before the race? or is there additional functionality? I was under the impression you could alter the throttle profile

Cheers

Rob

No it is under the driver setup menu so you can change it for each race and setup.

Select Driver Set Up and you will see an option to limit fuel and power.

I often use fuel limits to vary when cars come in to the pits and making it a little more difficult for seasoned drivers.

Actually it is more of a fact that documentation is needed regardless of the APP IMHO.

I have sometime spent hours "fixing" apps because their settings and menus are not clear and easy to understand.

I also am grumpy about the lack of labeling. My mother in law came to me with a smart phone. She has NO CLUE what it is and there are no markings on it to tell me.

I found an entry for the OS it uses but what it exactly is... no clue...

As Rob said in his opening post, he hasn't had much time to play with the app yet. I think that is key to getting the most out of any complex bit of kit like ARC Pro. Same with any of the digital race management programs for the Advanced Power Base or any of the other manufacturers systems.

Sometimes from reading these comments, it would be easy to think ARC is a pile of junk. It isn't. ARC Pro is a very neat out-of-the-box digital system with an extremely impressive software package for an entry-level product. It is a complex system and the app needs some investigation and "playing with" before I'd recommend hosting any race events. I'd say that about any new slot car system and think ARC is easier to explore than most.

What I've picked up from the forums is that some users find the smart device platform not to their liking. Everyone is welcome to their preferences. I suspect most new digital users are comfortable with the app, although a user guide would be handy. In the meantime, this forum is pretty good for answering questions and pointing people in the right direction.

I'm probably being really stupid Andy but how do i get to the driver setup section?

What would be really helpful is someone posting their own version of a user guide using screenshots of the app! If anyone has come across anything like that let me know.

Definitely not interested in using another RMS - just want to get the most out of the app and feel scaley couldve made the manual a lot better to enable that to happen - or posted more detailed info on the website

I don't have time to post screenshots now but I will try to explain it as clearly as possible:

Select any race mode from tjhe main screen.

Select the "gear" in the upper right-hand corner of the race you want to run.

Driver Setup should be the second entry from the top. Select that.

Tap any of the drivers you want to edit and from there you can change Max Power, Fuel Load and throttle curve as well as calibrate the car.

Hoping my mates kids won't notice that i've restricted their speed to 10%..... 😆

Indeed.. but do remember using many features of the APP sets the cars in calibration mode so there should be an obvious difference in speed.

Also some features like KERS start the car off at 80% of the maximum power you set so if you set maximum too low the cars will only crawl.

In most cases it makes more sense to adjust the throttle profile of the car and keep accelration under control as must kids drive like light switches, on/off and keeping acceleration under control might help as much as keep full speed down..
